LED Rigid Light Bar Strips: Pros and Cons

As new and innovative technology develops so do LED lights, and we’ve used them more in our households and outdoor activities. There are many types of LED lights that can fit your needs for any given situation or setting. Some people use them for their camping activities while others use them to light up their homes.

There are many kinds of these strips of light and the most common ones are flexible and fluorescent light bars. The latest one is the LED light bars and here are some advantages and disadvantages of LED rigid light bar strips.

Advantages of using LED light bar strips
  1. Low Electrical consumption – This is true for all LED technology as LED light bar strips uses less electricity than other light bar strips. This makes them more affordable to use and will be more convenient for your camping activities since it consumes a low amount electricity.
  2. Color – LEDs are able to replicate a larger light spectrum than traditional lights, this makes it suitable for different light installations. This will allow users to create or have different color effects that the user will prefer while camping or indoors.
  3. Life Expectancy – LEDs are also referred to as SSL, Solid state lighting were the original type of lighting that we used and have evolved into LEDs. Unlike filament and fluorescent bulbs, which often buzz and vibrate as electricity moves through them, LEDs remain completely stable. This is a reason why LEDs have a higher life expectancy and can continue working for many years.
  4. Produce less heat – The main issues with traditional lights is that they usually generate a great amount of heat. This can be dangerous and may even cause fires. LEDs produce less heat and this makes it an advantage which makes them safer to use.
Disadvantages of LED light bar strips
  1. High Price – It’s without a doubt more expensive than traditional lights, because it consumes less electricity. However if you get passed the price and think about it in the long run, you’ll definitely save more than buying traditional lights or gas lamps.
  2. Temperature Dependence – While LED can produce less heat a factor that lets it do so is the temperature of the environment in which it is being used. If the temperature of the environment is high then this will cause the LED to overheat and eventually fail.
  3. Voltage Sensitivity – Most LEDs light bar strips can be sensitive when it comes to getting their appropriate voltage. LEDs must be supplied with the proper amount of voltage in order for it to work in its perfect condition.

Aside from these seemingly minor disadvantages if you get passed the price which is often the dilemma when buying LED light bar strips, then you’ll make a more profitable and efficient choice. LED Rigid bars can provide you with all these benefits that most traditional light bars can’t.
